I spend a lot of time here complaining and wallowing in self-pity… It’s my go-to reaction when things don’t exactly work out how I’d like them to. It’s my way of trying to convince myself that things are the way they are supposed to be. That there’s some sort of Charlie Brown cloud hanging over my head.
And then something unexpected happens. And no matter how much you tell yourself that you don’t deserve it… you do. Together.
Do you know how much a proper wheelchair van costs? No? I do. A lot! Do you know how I know this? My little nephew Cameron has been in a wheelchair all of his life. He was born with a problem with his chromosome 15. That might not sound like much, but that tiny little chromosome is pretty important! Cameron has seizures, uses a feeding tube, and doesn't speak... although he and his mum communicate in a way most people would never understand. It's special.Continue reading
