I’m not really sure what to think about this. Granted, I’ve never actually seen one in real life, and maybe that would make a bit of a difference. But $259 US for a device that I THEN have to pay for each book, seems a little high. Couldn’t it be a little less expensive, and have the cost of the books increased slightly?
Sure, it’s neat. Feel like reading the latest Harry Potter book, and don’t want to go to the bookstore? Pick up your Kindle and download it within 60 seconds, thanks to the built in 3G wireless access. You don’t even need to find a Wi-Fi location. Nothing wrong with that! And by all accounts, the latest version of the Kindle is far superior to the original, making it easier to read and navigate.
But still… isn’t there something to be said about actually holding a book in your hands? Flipping through the pages? Who wants to take their Kindle into the bathroom with them?
