Dreams

I had two of the most vivid dreams last night that I’ve ever had.  Doesn’t take a genius to figure out where these came from.

In the first dream I was with my (ex) wife, presumably at a lawyer’s office, preparing the final agreement for the divorce.  Everything was going fine, and just as I was about to sign the papers, she told me that she was going back to school and that I was required to pay for that.  Well… I freaked!  I started calling her every horrible name that I could think of, and stormed out of there without signing anything…

I called my ex this afternoon as soon as I got out of bed, and asked her if we were fighting for any reason.  Then I told her about my dream.  She laughed and assured me that she was not going back to school, and everything was fine.  Then I told her about the second dream that I had.

In that dream, I had an unexpected run-in with two people while out Christmas shopping.  The woman was known to me.  The man is someone I’ve never met, but I’ve referred to him in the past as my arch nemesis.  (I will give credit to someone who pointed out that she thought *I* was my own arch nemesis… good call!)  Anyway, I don’t really know what this man looks like in real life, so for some reason in my dream he resembled someone who works on my floor… I don’t know that person at all, and don’t know why my subconscious chose him to represent my arch nemesis, but oh well.  Anyway, my arch nemesis was gloating about winning and I took a swing at him… That’s the exact moment I woke up, because in my bed I had taken a swing or lunged at thin air!  Scared the hell out of the cat.  Thankfully there was no one else with me, or who knows what I might have done.  I was actually sitting up completely when I woke up… it was weird… I’m not normally an aggressive person, but this felt very real.

Neither of these dreams kept me awake for very long, though.  I just put my head back on my pillow, closed  my eyes, and was out like a light.
