Thanks to now-Tropical Storm Earl, I had the second worst day at work ever. Earl unexpectedly changed course, and managed to flatten much of Nova Scotia’s power infrastructure, at one point putting nearly 230,000 customers in the dark. Needless to say… it made for a somewhat hectic day at the office. I don’t think that I’ve ever seen 12 hours fly by as quickly as they did today, and I’m expecting things to be somewhat similar tomorrow morning when I step gingerly onto the floor, and cross my fingers that the NS Power trucks have made some headway… When there are power problems, it makes my life miserable. When there are 230,000 customers without power… it makes my life unbearable. At one point all I wanted to do was crawl under my desk and curl up in the fetal position and put my headphones on. Yes, it was that bad.
I earned my money today, that’s for sure.
