HLC – Day 6

Published June 8, 2010 - 2 Comments

Yesterday I learned that a serving of almonds is 20-24 of the tasty little treats.  I also leaned that I can’t count very well.  It’s quite possible (almost a certainty!) that I had 3 or 4 servings through the day.  I’m not sure that’s what was intended, but that’s just the way it turned out.

I started my day by eating the 2 left over samosas, and a not-so-fresh roll.  It might be an interesting choice at 7am, but the bacon was still frozen.  At least I was eating something!  Jump start the day, and all that good stuff.  I skipped lunch, in favor of going for a drive to CostCo.  I should have eaten something instead.

On the way home, I decided to stop for some groceries.  It was obviously Seniors at Sobeys, so a little slow going, but I managed.  It’s a non-pay week, so I didn’t pick up too much.  Just some things to tide us over until I hear cha-ching in my bank account on Friday.

By the time supper rolled around, I had quite a headache building.  I figure that it could have been from not eating since 7am, or perhaps the Coke withdrawal was setting in.  It was also suggested that I was not drinking enough water.  No surprise there.  I declined my usual Advil happy pills, and decided to get some grub into me.  Thankfully I had just the thing.  Sobeys has halibut on sale this week, and I pan fried a nice big piece.  A couple of Childs potato croquettes in the toaster over, and I was all set!  I’m still not a big fish eater, but I do enjoy my halibut.

Leclerc Celebration Caramel Filling Truffles

On the indulgence side of the house, I bought something that I should not have…  Leclerc Celebration cookies…. One of the guys at work had them last week, and they’re probably the best cookie I’ve ever bought in a box.  They’re caramel filling truffles… and they are sooooooo good.  Each one is like a little chocolate bar.  And 2 of these little monsters is 20% of my daily fat intake.  If my math is correct (and it rarely is), that means that I can gorge on 10 of these if I eat nothing else though the day!  I’m pretty sure that’s how it works, isn’t it?  Time to get the roomie to hide these.

I also picked up my emergency 6 pack of mini Cokes… It’s actually quite depressing to look at these.  I’m sure that I could down one of those cans in under 5 seconds without breaking a sweat.  We’ll see how well those work out. Still drinking a combination of milk, grape juice, and water throughout the day.  No Coke!

Well, I should go made some breakfast.  And munch on some watermelon.  That word just doesn’t look right with only one “l”.  Thank goodness for spellcheck!  Hmm..  is spellcheck two words?  Because my spellcheck is underlining the word spellcheck.

Ironic.
