I was reading a really interesting post the other day on a blog that I had never been to before. I like to look at some of the local Tweeps and see what people are up to. Sometimes I stumble across something interesting. This was one of those times.
The author compiled a list of 130 things about her (I guess to go with the 130 things she wants in a man, posted earlier). As I started to read through her list of facts, I saw several that I could have written word for word. And then something else caught my eye…
#91 I am not my blog.
I’ve actually never considered this concept before, but it’s absolutely true. My blog is an expression of something that I am feeling at the time I am writing it… but it’s not really who I am. It’s a snapshot of something I am thinking about at a particular point in time. It’s certainly not the whole picture. And like everything else in life, it changes constantly. Some things may remain static, but in general, it’s a flowing mosaic of thoughts, feelings, emotions, dreams and memories.
Sometimes we read too much into the writings of others.
Sometimes we don’t read enough.
But I love what the author wrote, and I agree with her completely.
I am not my blog.
Feel free to read the entire list here. I’m slowly compiling my own, and hope to have it posted shortly.
