Watched one of my favourite shows last night… Two and a Half Men. The episode was titled “squab”, and the grandmother offered Jake some after he refused sushi. He didn’t like the idea of squab any more than he did sushi, but he enjoyed saying the word. Squab. Squab. Squab.
Finally one of the guys I was watching with turned and asked the rest of us “What the hell is squab?” I’m glad that I wasn’t the only one who didn’t have a clue. So of course we had to look it up, and I must say.. it was not at all what I was expecting.
The meat of a young domestic pigeon? Umm… that sounds delightful! It also sounds like a perfect remedy for those pesky pigeons uptown. Domestic? Wild? Oh what’s the difference when you’re talking about eating pigeon?
