I had the pleasure tonight to speak with someone from the southern USA. It’s so funny to be talking to someone completely new from an area that you’re not used to. I had to laugh a couple of times when I heard words pronounced completely different than how I normally hear them. Of course, I ended up setting myself up for later in the conversation when I repeated those same words. It’s funny how we speak the same language, yet it varies widely from region to region.
And I seriously don’t know what it is with the whole Canadian “oot” thing… but I think it’s blown out of proportion a little bit. The sound is “OUT” … not “OOT“.
